Novice Trophy Gala - April 2012

Halstead Swimming Club travelled to Mildenhall for a Novice Trophy Gala

For many it was their first competitive swimming competition and if they were nervous it did not show.  Although time penalty’s saw Halstead loose the 1st place finish due to having points deducted because of exceeding some time limits; the 8 & 9 year olds celebrated 1st & 2nd place finishes in almost all of the swims including the relay’s, in their age category.  Head Coach Roger Duncombe was delighted with the final result; finishing 2nd place was a great achievement and was a fantastic forum to see the promising future of the up and coming 8 & 9 year old swimmers.  The enthusiastic and vocal youngsters almost raised the roof with their cheering and support for each other.
