Following the publication of the analysis from the first four rounds of the Club Championships, there were lots of questions around the Swim England Sprint Awards and the times needed to achieve the different levels.
Attached to this post are the current times for all strokes and distances from Bronze through to Platinum.
Katherine Harris sells the sprint badges and will post to the Swimming Club group on Facebook when these will next be available. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to speak to a Committee member if you have any other questions.
Please see attached the results from round 1 to 5, along with the performance analysis produced by Michael Park.

After a fantastic evening of swimming Halstead finished in first place. Well done to all our swimmers.
Halstead is currently in 7th place for 2019 with just a few clubs left to swim their final round.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped on the night.
We look forward to a fun-filled weekend at Bradwell on 17/18th August. Please read the attached information and itinerary carefully.
Any questions please contact Jeremy or Christina.
After another excellent round of swimming with lots of PBs Halstead finished in 3rd place. Well done.
After a hard fought battle with Braintree, Halstead finished in second place, just 2 points behind. There were some fantastic swims and lots of PBs. Well done team Halstead.
Katherine Daynes attended the Glasgow International Swimming Meet in May and achieved the following results.
Congratulations Katherine, you continue to be an inspirational swimmer for many of our younger members, your peers and some of the older members who would like to remember when they could swim fast!!!
Beccles Open Meet.-Halstead S.C. sent a small band of swimmers to compete in the Beccles open meet. The reason for travelling to Beccles is that they put in an 8 year age
group which very few meets have. It was also a time banded open meaning swimmers who went under those times were disqualified although their times were recorded. This type of meet enables the less experienced swimmer to compete on a more even level. Unfortunately the Scott family were unable to get their th...rough sustaining a puncture and Imogen Cunliffe had a prior arrangement but there will be other events in the future.I'm going to start with some amazing swims from our 8 year olds beginning with Maisie Draper who picked up 2 golds in her fly and free. We know she has talent but sometimes drifts off in training, but wow, put her on the blocks and she is totally focused and went like a rocket. Joseph (discus) Bale also gained a gold in the Breaststroke which we thought would be the case but his free and IM swims gained 2 silvers. Lacey Mae Russell had some god swims but unfortunately had 2 technical DQs, but they were tiny faults that can be eradicated, but it nevertheless takes away from her swims. After a very nervous start Emogene Kent Jackson in her first competition can be proud of her achievements but more importantly came away smiling. Sister Issabelle now on her 3rd competition is gaining great experience and although we have lots of work to do her enthusiasm and gutsy efforts will get her there quicker. What can you say about the Linney family, Rose, Ella and Chloe are probably one of the most improved swimmers in the club picking up several medals between them. A trait that encompasses all 3 girls is their magnificent starts and turns, by far they have the quickest reaction time off the blocks. Jasmine Bale could only enter 1 event due to her being too fast in the others but she still managed a medal. The last swimmer to mention is Franklin Farren Ladkin who is improving considerably over the last 6 months and it was a joy to see him pick up his first gold. All in all it definitely feels Halstead is going in the right direction and with the youngsters coming through there is becoming strength in depth. The next 2 years will see a strong junior section at least and these will be transformed into excellent senior swimmers of the future. Well done all.
Our next 50m training session at the LAC will take place on Saturday 29 June at 12 - 2pm.
Please see attached the time slot allocations.
Any questions please contact Christina.

Parents and Swimmers,
The HSC committee are looking for your feedback/ideas on the Proposed NEW Halstead Swimming Club kit. It is proposed to used an Online provider to service all our kit requirements for the following reasons -
We are looking for your feedback on the range of kit proposed, colours and design. Would you wear the kit? Do you like the proposed design/colours? Are there any additional pieces of kit you would like to see available?
There has also been a suggestion that we could introduce a 'Supporters kit'. This would make our Parents/Guardians/Supporters visible at Galas, not just for the swimmers to see but for others supporters who may not know anyone else at the club.
Please view the attached Beccles Development 2019 Open Meet Rules and Conditions programme.

These Open Meets are run and managed by 'Other clubs' and allow swimmers to compete in varying distance events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m swims. A Team managed by Matt Bale and Georgina Farren are working closely with the HSC coaches to identify a variety of Open Meets for 2019, also allowing some of the younger swimmers in the club to compete which is an invaluable experience.
All the details for these meets can be accessed under the 'Events' tab and 'Other Club Open Meets'. Please find any member of the HSC Committee, HSC Coaches or even talk to other parents if you need advice on Open meets, what they are and how they run.

We have a section on this website specifically detailing 'Our Club Open Meets' surprisingly called 'HSC Open Meets'.
